Prophylaxis

One of the hygienic procedures is the professional removal of tartar and dental deposit, which should be performed twice a year. The procedure is performed with a scaler and a sandblaster. After it is finished, fluoride varnish is applied for preventive protection of teeth.

Teeth sealing and varnishing are another two preventive procedures

Sealing consists in filling grooves and fissures with a dental sealant. Molars and premolars with no signs of caries are the teeth that qualify for the procedure. For best effects, the sealing should be performed immediately after a tooth eruption.

Varnishing, on the other hand, consists in covering all accessible areas of teeth with fluoride varnish. Both procedures should be preceded by professional teeth cleaning.
